Marie Skłodowska-Curie:

1) European fellowships: Deadline September 11th 2014

Summary of the award: Provides an opportunity for researchers to broaden their horizons by working at a research organisation in Europe, with a view to acquiring new skills or working in new sectors. 2 years duration, the fellowship must be carried out in a EU country and provides a salary of between €37,320 to €55,800 p.a. depending of the candidate’s experience, as well as a mobility allowance of €7,200 p.a., training expenses of €9,600 p.a. and overheads.

Eligibility: The fellowships are open to researchers either moving within Europe or coming to Europe. Candidates must have a PhD by the call deadline. There is no upper limit on post-PhD experience. Candidates may be resident in any part of the world, must move to Ireland and must not have not resided here for more than 12 months in the past three years. There is no age or nationality criteria.

2) Global Fellowship Deadline September 11th 2014

Summary of the award: Facilitating European researchers to acquire new knowledge by working outside Europe for a time, then to transfer that knowledge back into Europe. The fellowship provides a salary of between €37,320 to €55,800 p.a. depending of the candidate’s experience, as well as a mobility allowance of €7,200 p.a., training expenses of €9,600 p.a. and overheads. Project Duration 24 to 36 months (including a mandatory 12-month reintegration period back to Europe after the completion of the outgoing stay).

1) Post Doctoral fellowships Deadline November 2014

Summary of the award: 2 years duration. €35,000 p.a. for postdoctoral salary, €5,000 p.a. for research costs.
Eligible Topics: Research centres on risk identification, modelling and mitigation and topics include environmental risk, life risk and socio-economic risk

Eligible applicants: Must have a PhD and can be of any nationality.

Irish Research Council

1) Government of Ireland Postdoctoral fellowship Deadline February 2015

Summary of the award: 2 years duration. €31,275 p.a. for postdoctoral salary and €5,000 p.a. for research costs.

Eligibility: At the time of application candidates must have completed their PhD viva but cannot have graduated from their PhD more than 5 years ago. Eligible career breaks will be taken into account, such as maternity leave, parental leave, prolonged periods of illness periods or working in an enterprise setting where the applicant was not able to publish peer-reviewed publications. Applicants can be of any nationality.

2) International Career Development Fellowship – co-funded by Marie Cure Actions (ELEVATE Fellowship) Deadline February 2015

Summary of the award:  3 years duration, the first two years of which are to be spent in a research location in any country other than Ireland and the final year back in Ireland. The fellowship covers salary of between €58,000 to €80,000 p.a. depending of the candidate’s experience, €10,980 p.a. for mobility allowance, €9,600 p.a. for research costs. The aim of this initiative is to allow Irish based experienced researchers who have gained most of their research experience in Ireland to gain research mobility and career development.
Eligible applicants:Candidates must have been awarded their PhD within the last 5 years (eligible career breaks will be taken into account, such as parental leave or periods working in an enterprise setting where the applicant was not able to publish peer-reviewed publications.) Or applicants can have four years full-time research experience after their undergraduate degree. Applicants must a resident of an EU or associated country and be currently living in Ireland at the time of the call closing and cannot have spent more than 40% of their research career outside of Ireland.

3) Enterprise Partnership Postdoctoral fellowship Deadline February 2015

Summary of the award: 2 years duration. €31,275 p.a. for postdoctoral salary and €5,000 p.a. for research costs.
Eligible Topics: Any topic but there must be an enterprise partner involved who is willing to co-fund one third of the fellowship. This partner can be a business, a company, a social, cultural, not-for-profit, governmental or non-government organisation.

Eligible applicants: At the time of application candidates must have completed their PhD viva but cannot have graduated from their PhD more than 5 years ago. Eligible career breaks will be taken into account, such as parental leave or periods working in an enterprise setting where the applicant was not able to publish peer-reviewed publications. Applicants can be of any nationality.
