Daniel Schillereff

Daniel is currently employed as a Teaching Fellow in Physical Geography at King’s College London. He submitted his PhD, entitled ‘Lake sediment records of flood frequency and magnitude’, to the University of Liverpool in September 2014, which reported one of the first attempts to systematically assess the potential for British lake sediment sequences to yield quantitative palaeoflood data. Daniel shifted focus for a year to investigate the long-term cycling of nitrogen and phosphorus in ombrotrophic peatlands as a PDRA at the Centre of Ecology and Hydrology, before moving to London in September 2015. He is involved on a recent NERC Urgency Grant awarded to PI Professor Richard Chiverrell (University of Liverpool, ex-supervisor and co-author) monitoring the sedimentary response to and flood layer preservation dynamics of the Winter 2015/16 floods in Cumbria.
